Help finding a gas burning unit that appears most like wb?

I want to suggest to my neighbors to convert their wood-burning fireplaces/stoves to natural gas burning.

I would like to recommend a brand that creates close to the same beauty of a woodburning unit. Some look so fake and that turns people off. There was a very nice one at a Starbucks, but I was unable to find who the manufacturer was.

If anyone could recommend the quality companies, you will make my day!

Stay away from the vent free ones. I think they're illegal in some states, but in NY they sell like crazy. The put carbon monoxide right into your living space.

Thanks for responding.

Yes, I was interested in the vented type. They can just use their existing flue. Do you know of a good company?

Woodburner is right. The ventless (gas) models are designed for outdoor use only.

My brother in law has one on his enclosed back porch, along with a tv and comfortable furniture.
He has a habit of falling asleep out there in winter. One of these times, he may not wake up!

I've warned him time and again not to use the fireplace, or at least install a CO detector out there.
His response: "The salesman said that the fireplace does not give off any carbon monoxide."

Well, yes they do! The sellers of these products often don't seem to have any qualms about dishing out
misinformation, just in order to make a sale. This is the kind of incompetence which can kill!

Sometimes people want to believe what makes them happy. It's frustrating.

What do you think about "Hargrove?"

What do you think about this company? This is what Starbucks uses, however the one I called uses the ventless type. I'd prefer the vented to suggest to neighbors. It was very realistic looking at Starbucks.

Or.... do these look unhealthy? With the paint on the logs and the pine cones they sell to make the crackling sounds???? >>>>

What about that one?

What do you think of these?

Here is an alternative fireplace (with sound effects) to both gas and wood, with zero particles, zero CO, and zero CO2

They even sell woodsmoke-scented candles, for those who miss the smell of the real thing!
