Title Slide

While there are many sources of PM10 in addition to residential wood burning (RWB) including diesel exhaust and fugitive road dust, the primary focus is on RWB.

Particulate pollution is not an isolated problem. Forest preservation and health care costs are involved as well as political orientation of government officials and regulatory bodies.

Brief Agenda.

Definition of the particulate matter found dangerous. Basically it is particles about the size of red blood cells or smaller and which are too small to be seen or smelled. For instance, see wood smoke particle surgically removed from women's lung.
